Stainless steel fibres are used as an extra reinforcement for the refractory concrete which lines the furnace/kiln wall.

Stainless steel fibres - sometimes referred to as stainless steel needles - are usually supplied in AISI 304 (1.4301), AISI 310 (1.4845), AISI 446 and INCONEL 601 (2.4851). However, different materials can be supplied on request.
